Crab Topics

It is said that there are as many different collections as there are collectors. This is definitely true, but there are some big trends which will group the different types of collections.

The Aesthetic Collection

Will group beautiful and spectacular crustaceans only. Locality data may occasionally be neglected in this case, which is not to advise if you want to dispose of the collection one day.

The Scientific Collection

Tends to be as exhaustive as possible, with good locality data. Quality is secondary, the specimens well documented are of prime importance. Such collections final destinations are museums, where they will join many other collections, in order to form decent study material for scientists.

All between-in variants exist and many topics are possible: specialising in a family or in a region are examples.
